About Mina

Who is Mina?
I am! I’m non-discriminatory – I hate everyone equally.

Why is she so Moany?
So many reasons. I live in London, one of the best cities in our little patch of the universe, but also one of the most irritating. Mainly due to the fact that I have to share it with about 8 million other people. I am of a naturally sarcastic and critical disposition and I “suffer” from Dysthymia, although I think the people around me suffer it more than I do.

What is Dysthymia?
Those of you familiar with “the black dog” need no introduction to this delightful “disorder” but for those of you lucky enough to be unfamiliar, Wikipedia tells us that it is:

a serious state of chronic depression, which persists for at least 2 years; it is less acute and severe than major depressive disorder

So if someone you know has been a miserable cow for the last, let’s say 10 years, then there’s a good chance they have Dysthymia and are not just a pain in the ass who sucks the fun out of everything. In some ways the classification of Dysthymia as less severe than major depression is one of the many things that irritates me, as it’s chronic nature gives it a seriousness and life-changing status that should never be underestimated.

Why do you need a blog?
I don’t really. But I figure if I’m going to permanently miserable and irritated, I may as well do something with it. I don’t have any special talents – I’m not artistic, I don’t write poetry, I don’t create home décor masterpieces from cereal boxes and old jumpers (much as Pinterest tries to tell me I can). The one thing that defines me, for better or worse, is my sarcastic & scathing nature. And my desire to be qualified to sit with hipsters in cafes blogging while sipping a mocha-chino-latte.

  1. HI Mina, 🙂
Your about page made me laugh. I love London but I wouldn’t want to live there it’s just an amazing place to visit. 8 million people does nothing for me either! Haha
Depression of any kind is debilitating and I believe blogging helps with it. I’m Bipolar along with a great other list of things my shrink threw at me. Sometimes I think they just like to throw the book at us! Hahahaha I hope your enjoy the festive season and are able to have a break from life, well a work one that is! 🙂 Hugs from down under and thanks for stopping by my blog! Hugs Paula xxxxx

Most people do not irritate me unless I am in that very special stage of bipolar known as mania. Then after a bit, I get on my own nerves. And, of course, people like my soon to be ex husband annoy the living heck out of me 🙂

I look forward to reading more of your blog!
